Create your first site

Every Drome site starts from a starter. You pick one, sign in if you haven't already, and Drome creates the site and opens it in the editor.

Pick a starter#

1. Go to /templates. From your dashboard, click Create site, or Get started if you have no sites yet.
2. Choose a starter:

1. If the starter shows a live preview, look around, then click Create site. Starters without a preview are created as soon as you pick them.

Sign in to finish#

If you are already signed in, the site is created straight away. If not, a sign-in window opens:

1. Click Continue with Google, or click Continue with email, enter your email and click Continue.
2. For email, open the link we send you. It expires after 10 minutes. You can open it on a different device.
3. Drome creates your account if you don't have one, creates the site from the starter you picked, and opens the editor.

There are no passwords. See Signing in if the link doesn't work.

What you start with#

• The site is named after the starter. You can rename it in site settings.
• It gets a random address like brave-otter.drome.site. You can change your site URL.
• It is a draft. Nobody can see it until you publish.

The editor tour#

The first time you open the editor on a computer, we ask how you heard about Drome. Click an answer, or click Skip. We only ask once.

The first time you open a new site, a short tour points out each part of the editor. Click Next to move through it or Skip tour to close it. To see it again, open the Site menu at the top left and choose Editor tour.

The editor needs a desktop or laptop screen. On a small screen you'll see Desktop required. If you create a site on your phone, you'll see Your site is ready instead, and we email you a link to open it on your computer. The question and the tour wait until you open the site there.
