Plans and pricing
What a plan includes and how billing works per site.
Building, editing and previewing a site on Drome is free. To publish a site, that site needs its own active plan.
What a plan includes#
Each plan covers one site and includes:
- A your.drome.site address
- Your own custom domain
- Automatic HTTPS
- All themes and design tools
- Publishing anytime from the editor
- 50 GB of data served to visitors each month (see Monthly data limit)
Billing is per site#
A plan belongs to one site. If you want to publish two sites, each one needs its own plan. Sites without a plan stay as drafts: you can keep editing and previewing them, but you can't publish them.
On the dashboard, each site card shows a badge:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Subscribed | The site has an active plan and can be published. |
| Payment failed | The last renewal payment didn't go through. The site stays live while it's retried. Click the badge to fix it. See If a payment fails. |
| Ending soon | The plan is cancelled and ends at the close of the current billing period. |
| Complimentary | Drome gave the site a free plan. It works like a paid one, and there's nothing to bill or cancel. |
| Draft | The site has no active plan. |
Monthly data limit#
Each subscribed site can serve up to 50 GB to visitors per calendar month (UTC). That covers every page, image, video and 3D file a visitor loads.
- At 80% of the limit, we email you.
- At 100%, we email you again, and the site's videos and files over 10 MB stop loading until the month ends. Pages, text and smaller images keep working, so the site stays up.
- On the 1st of each month, the count resets and everything loads again.
Usage is counted from our delivery logs, about an hour or two behind real time. If your site needs more, contact support and we can raise its limit.
Monthly or yearly#
You can pay monthly or yearly. In the subscribe window, turn on Bill yearly to switch to yearly billing. When yearly billing costs less, the window shows how much you save. Prices are shown in your local currency where available.
Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, using your default card. Taxes may be added to the price.
Subscribe to a plan#
- Go to the dashboard.
- On the site's card, click Subscribe. You can also click Publish in the editor; if the site has no plan, the same window opens.
- Choose monthly or yearly, then click Subscribe.
- Pick a saved card, or enter a new one.
- Click Subscribe to confirm. If your bank asks for an extra check, such as 3D Secure, complete it when prompted.
When the plan is active, you'll see You're subscribed! Subscribing doesn't publish the site on its own. Open the editor and publish it. See Preview and publish.
Refunds#
Cancelling a plan stops the next renewal. It doesn't refund the rest of the current billing period, except at Drome's discretion or where the law requires it. For refund questions, contact support.
For cancelling, reactivating and failed payments, see Cancelling, reactivating and failed payments.
